Eric Holmes leads the Services Bids Engineering and Technical Documentation function for Bombardier Transportation’s Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region, with an additional global mandate to support the growth and evolution of Services across Bombardier.

Eric joined Bombardier in 1998, as Maintainability Engineer for Bombardier Voyager fleet. Since then he has held various technical management positions, including Head of Engineering for Bombardier’s Class 22X fleet maintenance contracts, and project managing development and delivery of Bombardier’s Automated Vehicle Inspection System (AVIS) technology into Bombardier’s Gautrain Maintenance facility in South Africa.

Eric started his railway career in 1991, joining the British Rail Engineering Management Trainee scheme, and working for North Western Regional Railways/First North Western prior to joining Bombardier in 1998.

Nick Dunne

Nick Dunne

Siemens Rail Automation, Director of Technology

Nick is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ experience working in major infrastructure, covering various roles in Engineering, Safety and Operations with several major UK contractors including Carillion, Balfour Beatty and Laing O’Rourke.  He has been directly involved in major rail projects for the last 20 years, including West Coast Route Modernisation programme, Thameslink upgrade, Crossrail and the East London Line.

Nick is currently Technology Director for Siemens Rail Automation, responsible for Technology Strategy for Signalling and Communications in the UK, Research and Development as well as having Executive responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality and Sustainability.

Peter Hansford

Peter Hansford is currently residing as chair of the independent Hansford Review into third party investment in Britain’s rail infrastructure.

Peter is also a Professor of Construction and Infrastructure Policy at University College London. He was Chief Construction Adviser to the UK Government from 2012 to 2015 and was previously an executive director at the Nichols Group. He is a Past President of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

Peter holds a BSc in civil engineering from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from Cranfield. In 2014 the University of Nottingham awarded him an honorary doctorate for services to civil engineering.

Peter has over 40 years’ experience in major infrastructure projects, in the UK and overseas. He has worked on highways, railways and energy projects and advised on infrastructure developments and capital investment programmes around the world.
